Just opened and serving fresh hot churros seven days a week, Yaya’s in Geelong West is a sweet tooth’s best friend.
Located on Pakington Street opposite Pakington Strand, Yaya’s is Geelong’s only fresh, homemade churros store.
Owner Gorge Camora says the store was inspired by his mother Yaya and her delicious Spanish cooking.
“We are a Spanish family and traditionally for us every Sunday for breakfast we’d have Yaya’s homemade churros dipped in chocolate.
“They’re really popular all around the world and we had to go to Melbourne to get them when not going to mums.
“We think they are so delicious and you will too.”
Churros are Spanish pastry-like donuts make fresh in store to order and fired before being coated in either icing or cinnamon sugar.
They can also be dipped in Cadbury chocolate or filled with chocolate, caramel, banana, apple raspberry and chocolate fudge.
Yaya’s also sells tornado potatoes, Belgium hot chocolate and boutique Mahalia coffee straight from South Australia.
Yaya’s is open seven days from 10am to 6pm Sunday to Thursday and until 8pm Friday and Saturdays.
